Trailer Ball Mount - For Easy Connection

The trailer ball mount is a hollow metal square that fits into the trailer hitch receiver opening. Trailer hitch ball mounts come in a variety of sizes to fit different trailer hitch openings. Some ball mounts are adjustable. They are curved, allowing you to mount the ball lower or higher than the trailer hitch opening to accommodate trailers with different socket heights. Other ball mounts are extra long. This extra length becomes extremely useful while towing horse trailers and other irregularly shaped trailers. The trailer ball mount fastens the hitch ball with a hook and a clip, which in turn attaches the hitch with the trailer.

The DOS and DON'TS associated with the ball mount

However, it is safe to flip your ball mount upside down to gain height and still maintain the same recommended carrying capacity, provided you follow the manual or seek professional help.
